Having trouble trying to make things blend together

I got quiet a serious issue at da moment ive recetnly just been able to start getting on with trying to finish beats as ive manage to get the equipment however once i get working i gte an idea from a melody i then come up with other ideas but when put them down together it doesn't seem to blend well and doesn't sound right has anyone got any info of how i could sort this out.
 
This happens alot to me as well.Worst case scenario...save each thing you do "Beats" "Bass" "Melody" separately..and so on...if they don't work together you may find use for each of them later on.
 
That's a great idea man...

And you could make sure you have the same root key on the different parts in the song because that could be whats messing with ya
 
The root key is the main musical note that the song is in. For example, a song might be in the key of C or D. Like on a piano. If an instroment is playing a part of the song in a different key than the song is, then it'll sound off. What kind of software are you using anyway?
