getting those smooth-spacey pad/synth sounds like cardo (taylor gang producer)

being a sampled based producer i decide to switch up my style and start making my own music..i have almost every vst you can think off but the presets they come with are good but cant help me create the songs i hear in my head. so i was wondering if anyone could give me insite on how i can create all the sounds i hear in my head. i'm interested in creating those smooth spacey/atmosphere pads/synths cardo are known for having in his beats... i thank you guys for your help in advance. also which vst would you recommend is the best for creating your own sounds.
 
I found out from following him on twitter, that he uses spectronics omnisphere, which is like 499 or some shit.But I would assume you can get those type of pads from any decent synth. just look up some youtube videos on creating pads
