Feelings on lead synth replacing the bass?

Is this a solution or option for people like me that are awful at creating bass lines. The song fire flame for an example doesn't appear to have a bass line in it, but the lead synth seems to replace it. Any tips on bass lines would also be appreciated.

Uh synth can't rly replace uh bassline. The bassline is what makes the beat. W/out it yr most likely goin to have uh thin ass beat. What DAW are you usin? If it's FL open up the 3x Osc. 2 Knobs on the left side bottom one and one up turn them all the way to the left I think, or right if I'm wrong. N you should get uh pretty decent bassline to work with. Otherwise, sample..

If you think you aren't good at something, work towards changing that. Don't look to other aspect of your music to cover up another. Always improve yourself!

Listen a bunch of funk and mess around with some basslines from that genre. Thats what I do if I'm ever stuck on coming up with something.
