Editing Vocals

Guys I need help on making vocals that have like the weird pitch to them in edm music. Kinda sounds like it could be made with a vocoder yet I am not sure. An example would be the drop in "How Deep is Your Love," "I Took A Pill in Ibiza," and "Lean On." Can someone just tell me what this technique is called?

It sound like pitch shifting, that is just a basic answer though they probably used various other effects on the vocals but personally I think they just chopped the vocals and played around with the pitch.

Try and chop your vocal sample and map it on a keyboard and see if you can play around with different notes and pitches, or you can map each sample chop to a key on your keyboard/piano roll and then pitch shift each chop indiviually and then try and play a melody with them. Best way to learn is trial and error so mess around and see what technique works for you best.

certain words are probably chopped to individual samples then played like a melody with some portamento
