I produce my tracks in Logic, I was wondering how would I pitch a bass synth or a stab? I'm confused on what this would mean. Does it mean I move up an octave? Thanks

Pitching has two parts

Actual note choice:

any one of A-A[sup]#[/sup]/B[sup]b[/sup]-B-C-C[sup]#[/sup]/D[sup]b[/sup]-D-D[sup]#[/sup]/E[sup]b[/sup]-E-F-F[sup]#[/sup]/G[sup]b[/sup]-G-G[sup]#[/sup]/A[sup]b[/sup]

Octave placement:
depending on which DAW you use, can be numbered in many different ways

MidiNoteNumber Range
DAW0-1112-2324-3536-4748-5960-7172-8384-9596-107108-117118-127
LogicC-2C-1C0C1C2C3C4C5C6C7C8
CubaseC-2C-1C0C1C2C3C4C5C6C7C8
FLStC0C1C2C3C4C5C6C7C8C9C10
AbletonC-2C-1C0C1C2C3C4C5C6C7C8
Roland/Korg SynthsC-1C0C1C2C3C4C5C6C7C8C9

MIDI note number 60 = Middle C, the C underneath the treble clef staff

Note that in the above table FLStudio is the odd one out and thus leads to a lot of confusion when FL users talk to users of other DAWs.

Logic is showing it's original German roots as in C-Lab Notator Logic, a sequencer for the Atari ST series of computers in the late 80's

So how would I go about doing this? Lets say I've got one bass line with an LFO and its played in the key of E and I want to pitch it. How would I do this? The term pitching confuses me, I'm not sure what people refer to when they say this.
