Yeah, you want to keep delay and reverb effects on a track of their own (make sure to turn the dry/wet all the way to wet) and then use sends and returns to add them to sounds.
This gives you much more control over the relative levels, allow you to add additional effects to the effect signal and save a hell of a lot of CPU.
