Deep/Tech stab?

Hey guys,

I'm having real trouble creating a stab like the one in this track (Track is by Master Simz, good South African DJ)...

Here's how far I get:
I use one saw wave, tuned low and with multiple voices. I then use a lowpass envelope on it to creating the stabbing effect. The result is great for Nu-Disco/Deep House tracks, but not quite as punchy as the example above.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

maybe good compression will help you out?

by the way, are you talking about the bass or the synth?
