cloud rap sub bass

i hear a lot of cloud rap artists using this dynamic, somewhat tonal sub bass in there mixes, idk if this is a sample or a patch they make. but id really like to know do it. i also dont know how they mix it so clean.

it's just a plain 808 kick with some saturation on it and some glide when it moves quickly from note to note

What bandcoach sais. Play with distortion and saturation to bring the upper harmonics up. You can also try to play your subs one octave higher.
My guess is that this sub isnt played in the c0-b0 range, but I'm not very sure.
