Chorus Melody Help

im trying to create a chorus melody for one of my songs but playing in the same scale doesnt seem to be enough for it to sound good together. the beat is right but it just seems to get messy when the chorus comes. Are there any other tips on chorus melodies that u guys use to make it sound good. thanks.

keep it simple, choose a string or something and play 3 or 4 notes in progression. It may not sound like much but it's usually enough. Maybe throw a stab in there too.
