Can you recreate Dream Pop in a DAW without live instruments?

I'm trying to recreate some Dream Pop (genre) in a DAW using just VSTs and soundfonts but I don't know which to use or if its even possible. I'm talking along the lines of Bibio, Summer Heart, Washed Out, Ratatat, Dream Koala, stuff like that.
I read on another forum something about "single-coil guitar'?

that producers you mentioned sample stuff themselves.
What is the sound are you trying to recreate? Please be more specific and post examples.
If it's a guitar, there are tons of libraries/loops/etc.
"single-coil" means you're interested in stratocaster/telecaster guitar sound.
 
Yeah for sure I just thought maybe the genre would have some fundamentals themselves but here are some tracks that are really motivating me:
