Hi, does anyone have any idea how you could achieve this sound of mangled guitars from Evian Christ - Payo Rent?



It sounds really mangled but still manages to make sense if anyone has any idea I would appreciate the help...

Mainly from the start to 0:15

sounds like the approach used by Robert Fripp in his Frippertronics experiments - two analogue tape machines to create an endless loop with foot pedal operated switching of the guitar between recording and straight to the amplifier

add some chorus/flanging to the resulting sound and you get the pitch/time shifting you can hear

I think it's pretty safe to say that it's extremely unlikely that there's an actual Frippertronics setup at work here - I'm thinking it's mostly just a purposedly mis-timed loop through a (differently timed) delay & flanger.
