I dont even know how to describe it. I assume its some kind of synth. its in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXEOHHWH0CM The sound really becomes noticeable around 35sec in. Not the water dripping or other percussion. the main synthy whistle sound thing. Please Help! thanks so much!

Pick a sinewave, and stack some unison voices with medium detune (maybe 6 voices or so) with maximum unison panning, and then distort it with soft distortion, and you will get these ringing harmonics.

That's a nice technique to use, but the linked song has a much more sustained sound with a constant timbre, a key to have in mind is that real instruments and such tend to have a timbre that is constantly moving, while artificial sounds can have a constant timbre.

Hi steff,I know but it also depends on guitarist and his gear..Here is one of the best guitarist in the world Joe Satriany and at 1:23 you can hear annother quality of that effect..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOsgv_X_cV8 Also there is great guitarist Steve Vai and you can find his feedbacks sounds different because another equipment and techniques.. I never try that but by finding right track, then by sampling and tweaking that sound I believe you can achieve close result as tpaone is looking for and its probably the easiest way.
