Boards of Canada Drums

Hey all,
just wondering if someone could give me a bit of insight on how boards of canada go about producing their drums?
I've heard that they use a lot of tape compression, and sampling im guessing.
Are there any other ways of making similar drum sounds?
One song in particular was "Happy Cycling"
Also, i know Bassnectar, who's a huge influence to me, used similar percussion to them in his older music (Mesmerizing the Ultra)

I've been trying to wrap my head around how to recreate drums like these for awhile now and any help would be greatly appreciated :)

They don't sound like anything I haven't heard in any other genre's..

Sounds like no reverbs, maybe a little compression and tape sat.

Other than that look for good samples.

thanks for the feedback!
i figured it was a long those lines haha,
im still learning how to layer my sounds to get that kick i want but i guess it just takes time.
Better go dig for some more samples lol

Sick tunes btw man, good stuff for sure.

So just take a drum loop, cut it up, take the kick from it, and then layer that kick with other samples?
or would one kick sample be enough with the right eq and compression etc
