Best way to make powerful choruses?

If you have listened to any Greg Kurstin stuff (like Sia) you will recognise the powerful choruses. How is this done?

I also noticed it in a Kesha song (Love into the Light) also by Kurstin. How is this done?

Thank you for any advice!

Powerful is relative, you should add elements that didn't exist in the chorus.
More high-end will add more power as well, that is why you open the HH in Rock songs for examples, adding high synths and higher background vocals can help, but basically adding stuff would work in general.

Just from a quick listen to the Kesha track. When the chorus hits, there's a lot more instruments than there was in the verse, A LOT more, so maybe it's that all of the frequency range is being filled in comparison to the verse.

A lot of reverb on the drums and the pad gives a great sense of scale, and the underlying bass really gives the chorus some punch. I'd really love to know more about what actually gives it the sense of power. Right now I'm just guessing based on my moderate level of experience

I will monitor this thread...
