Been trying to make this synth for AGES!

I love this synth that RL Grime uses a lot in his songs.
I tried to remake it starting with a basic brass patch in massive.
But I can't get close, I guess there is also some saturation/distortion goin on.

The bavocals?
The celest backdrop?
For the horn it could be a saturated garritan/kontakt patch possibly

Not sure, but it sounds like some brass vst's combined with a dark supersaw that's been EQ'd to blend in better.
Just a guess though.

Can you be more specific on dark supersaw? Do you mean a low saw synth?

low saw wave and a bog-standard subtractive synth brass patch to my ears - no samples, just synthesised start to finish - a little (and I mean very little) reverb to make it jump out

if you want to make it with a sample I'd be using a mix of bass trombone and low aggressive french horns as well as a saw wave patch pitched in the octave below middle C
