Any advice on how Kanye West took this vocal sample?

The Sample is the "Aye e aye say you love say you love me uh ohhh"

The only options I can think of is physically having a copy of just the acapella version.
But is the any other way to strip to vocal besides having the acapella version.
I know you can do phase cancellation with the instrumental and the original track.
But is there ANY other way???

If you are talking about the opening, that is the straight sample pitched down slightly. If you are talking about the vocal throughout the middle of the track, he has most likely just EQed out the bassline and drums.
