Alternative for Block Chords

Instead of just playing block chords and plain triad arpeggios, could I instead play ;multiple melodies at once(and create harmony. I've been wondering if one melody has to actually stand out above the rest. Gucci Mane-Mo Money(feat. OJ Da Juiceman) - YouTube This track is a good example of what i mean. I just cant get those strings down. This producer always has subtle string melodies in the background. I wanna produce music thats hard to imitate basically. And this producer is very difficult to imitate because of the multiple melody lines he play in his music.

Playing multiple melodies gives a track a more complex feel and will make it that much better. I try to do it as often as I can.

You just have to be careful and make sure that there is one that is dominant. That one will be the main hook of the track. (At least that's what I try to do).
