Album Cover Design Which Is Better?

I need your help!




These are two album covers I have designed for a hip hop album.




Im not asking if you like either of them..




I want to ask you which you think would look better as my album cover?

The 1st reminds of "Now That What I Call Music" compilations but it is more eye catching and wouldn't be missed in a physical store. I like the 2nd one as it has a clean look but were I looking to purchase the album I'd lean toward the 1st for sure.

I just a bit unsure of the font on the first one...im thinking maybe a more blocky bold one

I found that the first one gripped me a little more in the beginning, but the second one ended up being the one that I liked more.

That's exactly the memory it triggered in my brain too...that's certainly not the type of thing I would want associated with my music for any reason.

I vote for the second one.
