Achieving a more dynamic composition

Do any of you have tips in achieving a more dynamic composition? Not mixing and engineering wise. But arrangement/composition wise. I find that some of my compositions are not as "live" sounding, and when i do have one that's good, I'm not REALLY aware of what I'm doing.. an example of what I'm talking about is something like this guy:

Like he has "loop based" music, but it doesn't completely sound like it is. Lots of ambience, yet still hard hitting DnB/Garage kind of feel to it you know. Any tips? Would be greatly appreciated.

dynamic can mean active or having rhythmic energy or it can mean having grades of loud and soft passages and movement between.

This comes back to not trying to have everything hitting as hard as it possibly can....
