808 Swing

Hello again everybody, I was wondering if anybody could tell me how Hit Boy is getting that swing in his 808s



It sounds like it happens right before the snare. You can hear it as soon as the song starts

this is not so much swing as rhythmic placement and displacement

I'm mostly hearing a true 16th before the snare on 2 followed by either of the 16th after 2 or the and of 2

I really appreciate you taking your time to reply, but would you mind putting that a little differently, I am still lost

I have broken the kick snare combination at the start of the bar into the two most used patterns

e&u are the off-beat 16ths/semiquavers, while the numbers tell which beat is in play

I have written what I have because it is not swing but deliberate use of 16th notes on the offbeat either side of the snare hit

Thank you! This makes more sense to me. But do you have any idea what intsrument/effect he's putting on that note that makes the 808 that effect
