You knw the window that you can see the artist though? I was wonder if that HAD to be soundprrof,..or is it just normal glass or plastic?

What separates the control room and the booth, are alreadysoundproof, so does the glass also have to be?

Well you wouldnt want sound from outside leaking in now would you???

The studios ive been to iv noticed that they have pretty thick glass or double sheets.

You generally want something like this

hhhhmmmm.....

is there a specific reason why the pains of glass are slanted like that?
AND...the air gap...why SHOULD that be there?

i'm not clowning or anything...i really wanna know :-)

The air gap is there because only two things can help to block sound: air spaces, and heavy mass. Air spaces work because sound travels poorly through it. I doubt a brick window would work for your purposes, so you'll have to write off heavy mass.

Solid glass or plastic would just vibrate right through.

The panes are at a slight angle to one another because if they were parallel, the air in between them would vibrate in a straight line and pass through much easier. Having them angled deflects the sound.
