I am upgrading my studio slowly but steadily, and I got to the point where I have most basic things I need.
Now I want to go beyond this point and buy stuff I don’t need, but dream about having!
Let’s start by showing you guys the kind of studio I dream about:
(this is from a guy from RAC, one of my favorite bands)
Introduction to RAC - YouTube
It’s a nice setup with a bunch of analog gear to play with, and has Ableton as the central piece of equipment. Exactly what I want to collect over the next couple of years
What I have so far:
- Midi keyboard: Arturia Analog Experience 61
- Monitors: KRK rp6 G2
- Audio Interface: EIE pro (piece of crap! Was going to buy the focusrite saffire but the nice VU meters changed my mind…)
- Korg MicroKorg
I hope you guys aren’t too skeptical about this question. I always do a lot of online research before buying anything, but I don’t know anyone I can talk to about this stuff!
Besides a bunch of money; what do I need to work my way up to a studio like the one I posted above?
I’ve seen the “post your studio picture” topic on this forum and a lot of you guys have similar studio’s; so what’s in it besides synths? I feel like I would be missing out on stuff I don't know much about. All I think about is synth related!
For instance, I’m about to buy a mic (most likely the mxl 440 or 990). I know the 990 needs a 48 volt input. My audio interface has that, so do I still need a pre amp?
This is all pretty new to me.
Thanks for taking the time
