I buy my panels from GIK Acoustics. Their site has an education tab with articles and videos. Also, if you look at their Acoustic Room Kit Package #1 you can see what "standard" room treatment looks like. Basically bass traps in the corners and generally slightly thinner absorbers at the early reflection points to the left, right, and above the listening position.
