    sup ppl,

rite im a 16 year old kid and i aint got no money at all. but i do have a very powerful laptop and FL and an average mic.

however i produce/MC and i was thinking about just getting a new midi keyboard for 100, a Shure PG58 mic for 50 and some amazin music recording software for around 100. along with FL, that would be all i need to create my own music. coz i been rhymin for a year now and wanna step up.
    any thoughts on this setup?

    safe.

Yeah its cheap, unless you really really really know what you are doing, your sound will be cheap also. If you are going to try and step up, then you need to SAVE MONEY but only if its important to you. Cutting corners will be better on your pockets but worse on your music.

yeh but in reality, its about the clever and witty lyrics in rap and not the super amazing quality that alot ppl feel they need, when their actual lyricism, flow etc. is ****. why u want industry style quality wen you been rappin 20 years and still aint left the block?

DMX got signed from spittin through the air to the earlobe of the head of Def Jam...

from what you said your not too bothered on quality of your beats but more concerned with your mc'ing so why not save yourself some money and either get someone else to make beats for you or go get some instrumentals to rhyme over. Your obviously not as serious about your production as you are your mc'ing so why bother.

was up pimp no paper just get your hands on reason 2.5 3 or 4 hundred in the stores but u can find somebody with it to burn, get that acid for some cool loops, next if very important u kno how u cant get those bass lines like u want them on fl what u need is a m audio-keyboard, the radium is 200, and the smaller one is 100 in some store just look on the net and your local stores. if u can get 300 bucks go get the korg micro controller its tight, with a drum pad and a keyboard.
