Im in the process of making this walk in a closset a vocal booth, i dont want any sound to reflect, so imthinking of getting these

    http://www.foamorder.com/acoustic.html

the 2" wedge aucustic foam...now im kinda tight on money, i can afford these, but i wanted to know,

would i get the same results if i pad the walls with these old quilts that i have?

im not tring to half ass anything, but if i can avode the 88$ cost i will do so, For now. would those quilts deaden my room well enough to use...and not damage my recording quality?

im doin hip hop by the way

A walk-in closet is not an acoustically sound space. That's pretty much it.

You mentioned not wanting to "half-ass" anything - Using a closet is going to be over three-quarters-ass from the get go.

Foam and quilts won't absorb any of the frequencies that you're going to have a problem with in a space that size.

I have recorded in booths smaller than this closset and have gotten real good quality,

    its about 8x6

if i had the space and the room i would definitly invest in something better, but not everyone is privledged from the start, so i have to deal with what i have at home

So basicly Niether of these 2 things would work huh?

Niether the foam or the quilts.

im gonna leave the door open, will that make a diference? becouse i know probrably a clossed room would give sum trouble

are you trying to just get rid of the slapback echo, or sound proof the room. if youre just tyin to kill that echo and deaden the room up a bit how about some good old carpet padding on your walls. not quite studio foam but it will definately kill the echo
