krushing: a man hows that absynth, i heard it yestarday at guitar center and was impressed by it. I never thought a computer synth could sound as good as a real keyboard but it shocked me, how do u like it, and whats the price of it?

it's very cool. the envelope settings are what i probably like the most about it - they can do practically anything. while it's a bit complex at first, the preset'll get you going fast enough, and studying how they're made gives ya plenty of ideas for your own sounds. it's 289 euros (that's roughly the same in us dollars) straight from the NI Shop.

Just getting serious with producing. Any advice on keeping the MPC? I know it's a classic but do I really need it if I have a MIDI setup and software sampler?

The MPC is prolly the best peice of equipment u can have in your hiphop studio arsenal. That may be an opinion based statement.. but lets face it. Look how many cats have it.. its a proven machine. It really depends on wat u prefer.. me I'm a hardware junkie. Altho I'm the first to admit soft-sampling is a bit easier.. faster.. and layout (interface) can be better especially with Kontakt. Whats your preference hardware/soft?.. if you CAn overpass the MPC.. (I dont see how :D ) then stick to software.. but get a good program.. like Kontakt.

Not much yet, but I'm getting there (slowly)
