    I just installed a new power supply on my computer and now my Cd drive/burner is not allowing me to burn cds/play or receive data files of music i have on cd.

    Did you plug the cd power cable into the cd drive?

    check the jumper settings on the back of the drive and put it on CS setting unless it's on the same ide cable as your hard drive. then you select SL jumper setting and make sure the ide cable is on really snuggly good luck.
