Anyone know of any cheap remedies for a broken headphone socket, or where I can get a new one. Using the standard speakers on my toshiba laptop to make music is a nightmare

It ain't that big of a deal, and it ceratinly doesn't require an EE degree. What piece of equipment has the broken "socket"?Originally posted by Paul Rez

I use an adaptor to wire my laptop to my system, over months of drug fuelled music making the adaptor has taken some hits. Resulting in only one side of the headphones working. You can get both headphones to work only when the socket is plugged half way in. The socket is located under the floppy drive and next to an infra red 'thing'.
It'll probably cost you less to get a basic USB audio interface than it would to have the laptop repaired, plus you'd have a better quality setup.
