ok...you're missing something important.Originally posted by Deal
Okay, So I am building a computer from the ground up and my question is this.
External hard drives claim data transfers of up to 450,(firewire)USB2.0
Now most hard drives only transfer data of up to 150 MB a second for serial ATA.
firewire is measured in Mb/s (megabits)
usb is measured in Mb/s
ATA Drives are MB/s (megabytes)
...so...8 bits = 1 byte
All of the numbers are theoretical (that peak for half a second).
I think PCI is 133MB/s (for all PCI devices). Go ahead and do the math.
