KRK Rokit, great value for money, range of sizes. Used these after using other monitors and have found mix issues i couldn't hear before. Very honest monitors.

i think JBL and Mackie make some in a similar price range, Adam do some with a cool tweeter that apparantly can produce absurdly hi freqs. But i think most people would say your gettin the best for your buck with the KRKs.

Heres the Adams: Adam A5X Nearfield Monitor

For 300£ you won't get good monitors. Safe up to at least 600£ and buy some quality stuff!

Lol adams >>>> krk are overrated

I would have to go with the KRK rokit 5 - 8 series. These are probably the best monitors you can get on a low budget. I have the KRK rokit 5 generation 2. I found a brand new pair on ebay for 250.00 free shipping. I have had them for about a year and a half now. I love em. They are great for mixing and catching those sounds you would otherwise never here.

If you don't mind a little work, you can build some decent line-array monitors.
Here's an old pic of my workstation, but I still use these. Not greatly beautiful, but they get the job done and sound amazing. (Also, sub is under the table)
