Design question about DJ mixer / audio interface

    Hey Guys,

So I have my studio monitors as a booth output coming out of my Rane TTM57SL (dj mixer), and my main output from the TTM57SL going into a dbx driverack PA and into a pair of yamaha 15" full range speakers, and an 18" powered mackie sub.

I also have an audio interface that I want to record with.

So I can run an audio output from the audio interface into an auxillary input of the TTM57SL, which would be fine - until I wanted to record anything from the turntables, and that's where I'm running into a problem.

How can I do what I'm trying to do? If the output of my audio interface is an input of the mixer which has an output to the input of my audio interface - I've just created a loop.

    Ideas?

I took some time to throw this together. Let me know if you see my dilemma.

This is one of those situations where you might need a patch bay or patch panel.

However, I would go so far as to suggest that you need to invest in a control room mixer, so that you have your Rane dj mixer separated out from the main monitoring path, particularly if you wish to use it as a source rather than as a mixer/control unit.

Alternatively, you can do what millions of others have done, run the output of the turntables back to the motu, and avoid opening the mix channel back from the motu whilst recording your turntables (can't have a loop if you don't turn it on in the first place)
