Hi

Newbie to hardware. I am thinking of buying a mpc1000, because it is small and portable: a sample/loop “sketchpad”.

What would you say would be the most complementary hardware for little money (don’t want to use software) that would enable me to record from the mpc1000, linear sequence, mix down, apply effects, automate mix/effects.

The mv-8800 does all of this but I like the portability of the mpc1000, and hoping to spend less money.

I have noticed that the roland v studios (vs-880?) may be useful but I don't know for sure. Any guidance appreciated.

Thanks
Al
