ok guys, i have the MPC in a diff room then my turntables adn my mixer....but i ran extention cords so they are all on the same outlet(no ground loop then). so i ran a 50 foot RCA from the record out on my mixer to the analog in on my MPC, yet when i go to record on my MPC4000 the lvl needs to be super low witch sucks! and i hear a very noticable HUM in the backround what can i do?

there always gonna be a bit of mains hum, maybe from yr mixer and pc, plus a 50ft cable will have a bit of resistance (remember ohms law hehe) anyway, difficult one, u can try using sound forges noise reduction plugin, its a good plug in to remove this kinda sound, but it aint perfect, and u can over do it. Do u have a good soundcard?
u may need to move a deck and mixer next to the cpu and use the shortedt cable u can get.

-Bury the mastertape in your garden and leave it there for sometime.
-Blow ganja smoke on the master tape while recording, to add this eerie finishing touch.
-Put a few bottles of your own urine in the studio to give more energy. (Lee Perry)

does your mixer and the MPC have balanced in and out if you use these it will cut down on the interference a little, but I wouldn't recogmend running anything over 20 ft in a studio environment and try to keep it as short as possible. The cables are always the weakest link in a sound system so if you can reduce the amoun t that you use, you'll be better off.
