there's a million ways to get inspired, but I'll stay on topic. if i'm uninspired and i'm trying to write with help from random streams of thought/information, I open up random word dictionaries or random wikipedia page generators(there's many of both, google them). eventually i find something interesting, read, then i feel a lot more lucid and inspired. that site you listed is cool, funny thing is though, if i'm uninspired it's not writing about a topic or thing, it's looking for a good one to start with.
Hey Patrick, When I'm lacking inspiration what I usually do is listen to music I like and often times I would write a new chord progression to an existing melody, or vice versa... write a new melody to an existing chord progression. For me ideas seem to flood during this exercise.

I definitely also do what both of you guys suggest. Another couple of my favorites are reading comic books for creative triggers and concept ideas and there is a practice space down the street from my apartment I will just troll around listening to the bands play and get inspired.
Man for whatever reason, looking at mixtape covers always helped me. Probably cause im a visual person but just seeing a dope cover and then trying to make almost theme music to go with it helps.
I use to think what I feel and what's going on in my life... It helps...And what I want to achieve with my life. What I miss - what I don't miss...
