Lyricism methodology

Hello. Do you guys have any specific method regarding lyrics writing, or do you usually follow a sequence of steps?
The other day it came to me: not always, but I usually create the vocal melody in a pure musical way, as if it were another melodic instrument, and from that, I write the words. Am I the only one?

How do you create lyrics?

I've started from rhyme lists, concepts, song structure and the way you said. I find the best way is when i combine all of them but very loosely so i'm not commited to any of the ideas and can stay adaptive to what is needed.

For me I write them as I go. I write a line and think of what I wanna say next with the beat playing, then rap it over and over with different flows until I find what I like. I also write down lines that come to me in the notes section of my smart phone throughout the day and will try and put 2-3 in each song.
