A dated a rapper a while back. Things got really messy, lots of ups and downs. She had problems writing before that but now afterwards she says she just has so much to draw from.

Date someone, feck it up, get back together, feck that up, repeat and rinse and writer's block will be no more.

Then all you will be able to write about are ups and downs of relationships. Don't get me wrong, that's good content, but not for every song.

Writers block is incredibly frustrating, especially when you're working towards a deadline. Although there are different ways of finding inspiration, I try to follow this list first and it does sometimes help

1) Don't throw away your ideas too soon (sometimes just persevering with what you've got can lead to better results)

2) Go for a walk (You can often come up with ideas away from the computer or keyboard)

3) Try to write something every day (You might not like what you've written, but get something down as this will give you a feeling of progress)

4) Write out a structure and try coming up with ideas for a different part of your song

5) Ask your friends to have a listen to what you've already come up with, or if you have nothing, they might be able to suggest how to start if they are musicians.

typically the worst thing to do whan you have writers block is to try to force it... i get this with my production from time to time and i will end up leaving it alone for days at a time... now if you are under a deadline thats a tough one.. at that point idk.. maybe smoke a blunt and try again...lol..

Writer's block only exists in your mind, you gotta learn yourself to forget it and focus on the beauty of music and the beauty of your own mistakes!

Sometimes if i get stuck i start working on another song. Another technique that I learned is to just mumble whatever comes out and record it. Like just make up whatever as your going along and then come back and write the actual words to whatever you sing/rap whatever. Try it out.

But sometimes, you just need to take a break.
