Best rap verse ever?

I think there are far too many to pick the best. The best is also too vague, I feel there are some verses better in some aspects and some in others.

One of my personal favs (albiet cliche) is Nas` first verse NY state of mind.

In recent memory, I really like Big Boi`s first verse on Shutterbug, too

I think the best verse I have heard (at least recently) is the third verse in
Shad - A Story No One Told

So he wrote every quote spoken
And left every breath kept
Sketched in the next step of concrete
Then Death crept and lead him to his bed
As the sun began to rise
He titled his surprise
“The Story of the Man that Died”
Then his wife and the townsfolk awoke and were shocked
First by his passing, but then by what he wrote with his chalk
They got the roads blocked by a flock of postmen and cops
He wrote from his lot to the edge of town close to the docks
Where he used to watch the boats and often joked with his pops
His folks had not long ago passed and now both with him walk
People came from everywhere
They read the story through for days
It wasn’t nothing new or strange
Still they were moved and amazed
It wasn’t the places he’d been or the people he’d met
It was the spaces between and the secrets he’d kept
They wept joyfully, for the greatest story no one told
Was just the story of an ordinary man growing old

Notorious BIG - Victory

In The Commision, you ask for permission to hit em
He don't like me, him and wild wifey was wit em
You heard of us, the murderers, most shady
Been on the low lately, the feds hate me
The son of Satan, they say my killin's too blatant
You hesitatin, I'm in your mama crib waitin
Duct tapin, your fam destiny
Lays in my hands, gat lays in my waist
Francis, M to the iz-H phenominal
Gun rest under your vest by the abdominal
Rhyme a few bars so I can buy a few cars
And I kick a few flows so I can pimp a few hoes
Excellence is my presence, never tense
Never hesitant, leave a nigga bent real quick
Real sick, brawl nights, I perform like Mike
Anyone -- Tyson, Jordan, Jackson
Action, pack guns, ridiculous
And I'm, quick to bust, if my ends you touch
Kids or girl you touch, in this world I clutch
Two auto-matoes, used to call me fatso
Now you call me Castro, my rap flows
Militant, y'all faggots ain't killin shit
Ooops Cristal keep spillin shit, you overdid it homes
You in the danger zone, you shouldn't be alone
Hold hands and say it like me
The most shady, Frankie baby, fantastic
Graphic, tryin to make dough, like Jurassic
Park did quick to spark kids who start shit
See me, only me
The Underboss of this holocaust
Truly yours, Frank White

Lyrics to Exhibit A :
i spit that wonder ryhmer shit
me and my conglomerates
shall remain anonymous
caught up in the finer shit
get that type of media coverage obama get
spit that Kurt Vonnegut
that blow your brain kurt cobain
that nirvana shit
who gone bring the game back
who gone spit that Ramo on the train tracks
that gold rope that 5 finger ring rap
runnin with my same pack
you can find find the christ where the lepers and the lames at
life is like a dice game
one roll can land you in jail or cuttin cake blowin kisses in the rice ring
nice whip nice chain a closet of skulls
the stench is like slave blood in providence hall
they built my city on top of a grave
nigga die nigga get high and watch the parade
back then the early 90s
where they at where they at get the gat get the gat was a popular phrase
bally animals and rugbys was a popular craze
this the vivid memoirs of a obnoxious slave
i pave ways like nat and harriet
i blast on judas iscariot
and peel off in a chariot
im sittin pretty spittin flames grippin grain
aint a damn thing changed

they say candy man candy man spit me a dream
blow a chunk of the levy out and spit me a stream
knock a man house down and build a casin'
a two thousand dollar government check from FEM'
i swam down shits creek and came up clean
with a new lease on life like andy dufresne
its the most poetical
nat king unforgettable
clarence 13 extra large
rhapsody from bellevue
im splittin atoms spittin flames bringin change
thingsll never be the same
i got the rap game singin at last like etta james
lames get they plane shot down like john mccain

a lot of kings seen death and turned queen
crack they 24 inch rims in the ravine
respect the architect never test the Elohim
good night this is jay elect live from new orleans

It's difficult to choose the very best one, but I would jus say that there are good lyricists and others... Among the good lyricists, there is Tupac, Nas, Eminem when he wants to be good...

Theres a Certain Mystic, when i speak, that you notice thats sorta unique, cause you know its me,my poetry's deep, and im stillmattic, the way i flow to this beat, you cant sit still, its like trying to smoke crack and go to sleep... ecttt.. yall know what verse im talking about lol

Love Me-Eminem,50, and Obie Trice. 8 Mile soundtrack. Good ass song.:cheers:

It's so impossible to choose, but the more I listen to it, the more I love 3000's verse on International Players Anthem. It's just raw, unique, deep and lyrical.

"So,
I type a text to a girl I used to see
Saying that I chose this cutie pie with whom I wanna be
And,
I apologize if this message gets you down
Then I CC'd every girl that I'd see-see around town
I hate to see y'all frown but I'd rather see her smiling
Wetness all around me, true, but I'm no island
Peninsula maybe
Makes no sense, I know, crazy
Give up all this pussycat that's in my lap no looking back
Spaceships
Don't come equipped
With rearview mirrors
They dip
As quick as they can, the atmosphere is now ripped
I'm so like a Pip
I'm glad it's night
So the light from the sun
Would not burn me on my bum
When I shoot the moon
High, jump the broom
Like a premie out the womb
My partner yelling too soon!
Don't do it! Reconsider!
Read some liter-
ture on the subject
You sure? **** it.
You know we got your back like chiroprac-
tic If that ***** do you dirty
We'll wipe her ass out as in detergent
Now hurry hurry
Go on to the alter
I know you ain't a pimp, but pimp remember what I taught ya
Keep your heart three stacks, keep your heart
Ay, keep your heart three stacks, keep your heart
Man, these girls are smart, these girls are smart
Play your part, play your part."

It's just perfect to me. That Gladys Knight and The Pips line is just crazy.

There a lot of raps that could make a list, I don't think it's fair to name just one as the best, though.

Cee lo's verse on The Nigga Experience needs to be transcribed in stone and put into the smithsonian... He did some amazing things on that Still Standing album man...

To me the best of the best is Andre's "twice upon a time there was a boy who died" verese on aquemini...Typing it doesnt do it justice...youtube it

First verse of Das Racist's 'nutmeg'

Queens Boulevard, Kierkegaard, hustle hard,

Was on another hip hop site and they had a thread about the best verse ever...what do yall think is the best rap verse ever...out of published music...i go with tupac so many tears 3rd verse

Lord knows i tried
been a witness to homicide
and drive bys takin lives little kids die
I wonder why as i walk by
broken hearted as i glance at the chalk lines gettin high
this aint the life for me
I wanna change
but aint no future right for me
Im stuck in the game
Im trapped inside a maze
see this tangeray influenced me to gettin crazy
disolusioned lately
I been really wantin babies
so i can see a part of me that wasnt always shady
dont trust my lady
cuz shes a product of this poisin
im hearin noises
i think she fu ckin all my boys i cant take no more
im fallin to the floor
beggin for the lord to let me into heavens door
i shed so many tears

that sh it was sick!!!

Not bad dude, good job! Keep on keeping it on!

Man I had Jay-Z's last verse on If I Should Die on repeat

(IF I Should Die) I'll tell BIG they're still hearing his songs
Running to Pac asking, Where we went wrong?
Tell him life is miserable when you're dealing with the physical form
Is everything thats invisible gone? I need to know
Will I still feel pain? Or will it be ironic
Can I chill in the flame with all the ills in my brain?
Can I reveal the game to all the hustlers trapped in the race?
And if so, can I leave this place?
Can I puff cigars and drink cristal?
If this is heaven to me, is this considered heavenly?
Can I still touch lives? Answer their whats and whys?
And make sure everybody in my fam clutch fives
If I should die.......Dont cry my niggas...

All verses of Moment of Truth by Gangstarr, Guru just tore it up with knowledge. It's the type of song that's quite cliche but you listen to it and your like, "Damn, how does someone come up with that."

best rap verse ever i can't name but jadakiss's cd kiss of death would sum up the best verses of all time on 1 cd and lil wayne's carter 2

you cant compare company flow to tupac.. lol its 2 different worlds. one is from the heart the other is from the brain.
