Laid Back Sample Beat F4F

Wishart Beats

Ill Beats for tha Kids
Hit me with some feedback about this beat and I'll return the favor: https://soundcloud.com/wishart-beats/laid-back-hip-hop-beat

I've been making beats for about 8 months now and I'm 15 years old, if that means anything.
I'm looking for criticism on every aspect of the beat, so give me things that I can improve on.

Anyways, have a nice day and don't smoke crack.

The sample chops are nice here, has a little J. Dilla over it, however the beat is just a tad to long for me at 3 minutes, gets a little repetetive, cut it down to 1-2 minutes, when it is just the beat. Just a little thing though. As far as the drums, I want a little more power behind the, perhaps some layering would do the trick. Otherwise the mix sounds clean and well made to me. Definitely keep up what you are doing though, you got talent.

good melody...needed to be variated a bit...because a beat longer than 2 minutes which has the same pattern becomes boring...i suggest to make complex melodies using a lot of chops. Same for drums try to make different patterns adding percussions like crashes, open hats, tambourines, woodblock etc...props man

Nice beat man. Especially for only being 15. The sample choice was on point and I like the drum choice a lot. Keep it up man

First off +1 for Dr. Steven Brule!

Maybe go back to your sample and find some chops for change ups. Kick needs a little more mid and top end sample is covering it up or maybe sample track needs turned down and drums up a lil. I dunno.

Good work though i was noddin.

Keep On.

thanks for the detailed mix feedback, its the kinda thing i need advice on the most.

Keep it up, Your ear is developing. By that I mean the samples are decent and your editing is developing. I think it kind of needs a little structure. Structure will prevent it from being long and boring. For instance before a chorus you could add a 4 bar break/bridge where you change the beat or add a filter to make the listener anticipate the chorus.

Feedback appreciate here:
