If you like my work, subscribe here: www.youtube.com/TheEsVolk it will keep the beats coming!
this is cool beat, drums is nice, the sample is o.k. you know what you're doing. I really don't sample but their is lot's of successful samducers ( I call them) like 9th wonder, Apex (I know) Kanye West... I just feel Hip Hop needs fresh blood and new sound creators for a evolution. I would like to here some original material from you so I can decide what you are.
nice work.
I hear you, making beats from scratch is a whole other discipline to working with samples. I do have a number of original beats, but not many of them are on the net at this point. I do have one of them on my SoundCloud here: Caffeine by Kaytoo Beats on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free I've made better stuff than this one since, but that's the kind of stuff I make.
Thanks for the continued feedback people, glad you're enjoying the track.
i absolutely LOVE this sample man. Love the little bit of reverb you added. Snare and kick are on point, some may think the kick needs to hit harder but i like it. Only thing i have to say is, the shaker and every thing else have a really nice groove, but i feel like the hi hat is kinda static, you know what i mean? Kind of over quantized. But thats just me being really picky, the vibes i get off this thing are dope. Good work man!
Thanks for the feedback!
- Vibe of the record is great
- The sample/rhodes are excellent
- Mix is clean
- Thought the kick could hit a bit harder but its fine
Nothing else to say man ... Keep it up -- dope joint
Very nice chilled feel. Love the vinyl crackles, sometimes I feel the sound is a bit overused, but it really helps with the mood here. Is that an Erykah Badu sample? Sounds like her. I think I agree with 'Thesoundist' though, I feel they should have been slightly louder in the mix.
The bass to me sounds too dry, I would add a little reverb to it to help it sit in the mix nicer. it also sounds slightly out of tune with the rest of the piece, not by much though. I also agree with 'ACE2CWB', the hi hats sound like they have a little too much high end, maybe eq with a high shelf above around 8000Hz instead of just bringing the whole volume down though, since the mids are nice.
Hope something helped.
Please have a look at my first vid 'Born on the Moon' and tell me what you think.
Born on the Moon - Kamau Lyon *F4F*
Thanks!
This is nice and mellow and hip-hop at the same time, it put me in a good trance. Not much I can critique here, very nice work!
