Hello fellow producers i am a aspiring producer out in fresno ca. Ive been teaching my self how to make beats that are hip hop/pop/r&b. As i listen to my tracks they feel like they are lacking something and i dont know what it is! Please take a listen to my track and let me know what i can/should do to improve my beats, thanks

Im in the same boat as you. I like the drums you got working, i think the whole song needs to have a higher volume i had to crank my speakers up. I think my beat is the same thing though i haunt mastered it yet. I just finished my first one, check it out!

thats not a bad start at all. i would recommend adding more melody to it to give a more uniqueness when the actual verse plays, u wanna be able to tell the chrous from the verse, and use some transistions like drum breakdowns or fx to bring in the next parts. be sure to listen to some professional work and rate urself off their level and skills.

Yes, you're talented, the pad is good, and the drum rhytm is so catchy . it sticks in your head.
On the part with the tips for the beat. Experience is your best teacher, might regard this as a pointless answer, but in the end i think you will realize that its the best.
As many explanations as one might get, if you dont just do the beats, you wont get it . In time your beats will sound better and fuller, because you will learn from your music and others music, your ear will start to form itself
