I created this beat real quick with a Erykah Badu sample.
I created the drumsounds by myself. They are sampled of a drumbreak and processed/effected by me.
The Bass is reminding of J Dilla.
And i played piano on top of it.

I don't know, not trying to be a prick, I just don't really like it. It sounds old and not crisp.

yeah, that old sound is cause of the old drumsounds i used which is a plus to a lot of old skool hip-hop heads.

and i sampled my drums in mono cause i read it on beattips in the past.

I've turned the keyboards up a bit. I think it sounds crispier now. Can more people give me advice on the mix? Does it really sound old? Or does it just sound more analog? i personally think this beat sounds very warm.

sounds nice. but you could bring out the bass a little more its pretty quiet and some mids to it maybe :P

Imo It doesn't sound that old tho because it is far well too mixed/mastered for that even if u didn't master it the quality is above the 1980 and early 90ies :P
