A mixing beginner who wants input on a EDM/Rock/Metal song!:)

Im a beginner when it comes to mixing and writing music completely on my own and here is my first shot.

Please give some feedback on the mix. I have looked on a lot of tutorials and tried my best but now i need another set of ears to get further and learn more:)
Its kinda a metal song but with EDM style. Im planning on recording some vocals but havent gotten to it yet because lack of knowledge and lyrics..

 
Hey man! I hear ya. I'm in a very similar boat. I don't want to steer you too wring on the mix/master so I won't say much on that end. It just lacks that professional oomph. It sounds almost like you bounced/exported it compressed (mp3 or something). Is this the case?

The songwriting is really cool though. I was surprised to hear some progressive elements in there. I love when trickier rhythms still feel groovy and tight. I'm not sure where vocals would fit in though. I'd be interested to see what you come up with
