Nice as you said its very simple but it does have a vibe and the drums add bounce to it I think the beat is dope but I do think the bass needs tweaking it sounds muddy and when it comes in it takes energy away from the other sounds but as soon as its not playing all the other sounds get their energy back. Not sure what it is but you might be sjidechaining I say you fix that issue and this will sound dope because the bass issue kinda ruins the vibe.
I love the melody idea, and the minimal approach, because I think that has a lot of potential. I would thicken the sound with more instruments and synths that compliment the overall sound, and fix up the mix a bit, just so that the high mids and bass aren't so loud compared to everything else. Cool track!
