Interesting synths man, kind of reminds me of an 80's band, the transitions particularly that really loud high pitch synth don't really work in my opinion but I think if a rapper is good enough, it'll work. not bad at all
Nice chord progression! You have a little techno sounding arp in there! You could stand to fatten up your clap a little, maybe bring the drums up a little, that flatline noise is a little loud, other than that, you have the makings of a very nice track here! https://soundcloud.com/will-vetter-goodin/drifting-away
I really like 'largeness' of the synths, but feel they could do with a key change / bridge-y gap. But I don't think the drums match the size of the synths. And the whole thing needs a good mastering.
- Melodies are cool
- Overall mixing needs alot of work -- i would turn down the reverb on your instruments and the overall volume as well
- I would turn down the reverb on your snare and raise the volume of the snare
- The kick is drowned out too much by the instruments and again, by the reverb. Lower reverb and raise up in mix!
- The siren you used is too loud in the mix too
I would get rid of all the sfx you've got, like the rising tremolo synth and the flatline, then you'll have yourself a decent beat. Also, the drums need to be louder, and more percussive elements need to be included to fill it out more. But other than that, this has potential!
Props on putting this up. My advice is to focus more on rhythmic & progressions throughout instead of the EFX you have. The one you have that starts around 1:50 is great for example.
