Sweet new r&b i made (first time making an r&b beat)

I'd definitely try some different synths for the chords & melody. A rhodes/electric keyboard sound could work pretty well. Think the drums you've used are a bit more trappy/hip hop as well. Have a listen to some of Anderson Paak.'s stuff or D'Angelo if you want more R&B or try Tom Misch/FKJ/Moonchild for more electronic stuff.

The core of it is decent, you should look into automation effects to keep it changed up throughout and also work on your mixing and mastering, it'll come with time! Keep it up man

try adding some chorus, flangus, phaser, reverb on the pad. that can spice up any sound quite a bit even with the most simple chords. a little music theory wouldnt hurt either. keep it going
