In FL Studio...what is the best way of gettin that Zapp and Roger sound they use for their voices?

i figured it was a vocoder but damn.

FL has the vocoder plug-in but I don't know how to freak that
I can do it in Reason, learned from a tutorial
Roger didn't use software though
he used a keyboard, microphone, and a home-made guitar talk-box rig because the ones in stores couldn't do what he wanted

You can do it with the FL vocoder, in the FL Version 6.0 start song the guy that's singing did it to his voice. I'm still tryin' to figure out how, so if I get it I'll post the settings here.
