trying to EQ drums out of a sample

i'm using logic software and i have a lot of different options about which EQ to use. there's parametric EQ, channel EQ, DJ EQ, high shelving EQ, low shelving EQ, and silver EQ. Does anyone know the differences between these, and which one I should use to try and eq out drums? I'll probably just end up doing a trial and error kind of thing.

your best bet is parametric eq...but before you go slashing and slicing, I'd suggest using the search option to find out more about it...there have been some amazingly useful posts here about EQ

(if your using parametric you'll need to know at what frequencies the sounds fall into anyway)

You'll have your answer in 5 minutes that way...but as said above...use a parametric for precise control...one for the snare frequency and maybe another to target the kick frequency. Just a idea.
