    im in audacity choppin some drums out of breaks. but what is the standard for a .wav. what sample rate, bitrate etc? and how do i change it because it is saving them as 16khz and they sound abit wierd. isnt the standard around 40khz?

    help appreciated! my first time using audacity.

    i think it's around 44khz

    Standards are 44.1, 96, and 192. Most are 44.1 unless you're dealing with studio grade.

    Try using Goldwave, its much better, and so is the interface and features.
