sample or not to sample...that is the question

Percentage wise how many of your beats are based around a sample(ex. taking a loop and chopping it up) and how many contain no sample or just a added sample on top of your beat like a vocal. The reason I ask is because im not very good at sampling yet. And I want to know if you guys who always sample post some beats that dont contain samples.

A lot of Hip-Hop's greatest beats are sampled... I feel it has more soul.

i do both....but no matter how dope the sampled beat comes out, usually I am more proud and satisfied with my composed beats......I also enjoy composing a beat and chopping it latter to make it into something completely different......

I'd say 90% of the beats I've made use samples.. It's just more real to me.. I hate all that synthetic ****, and unless you got a live band or orchestra to make music with, I suggest sampling..
