Hey I had a question about getting dreamy type, tropical or wavey type of hip hop.

French Montana - Smoke & Drank ft. Mac Miller : search on youtube.

Wiz Khalifa - Oz's & Lbs ft. Chevy Woods & Berner

Wiz Khalifa - Brainstorm (Taylor Allderdice)

You could start out by listening J.O.B Orchestra, they have lots of goodies.

i'm not even sure that the french montana track has samples. sounds like some soft keys to me, maybe with a bit of filtering. if you want that wavey type feel just try using different effects on your main melodies. get a nice rhodes riff going and mellow it out with some filters or modulation. maybe eq some of the high end off the sample to make it kinda washy and chilled out. that's my advice anyway. sorry if its not what you were looking for.
